Is there a way I can do it with terminal? I have got the IOUSBFamily.kext on my computer, but cannot use keyboard shortcuts to get it back in the correct postion (HD>system>Library>Extensions) due to needing to enter my password and being unable to select the password box (as I don't have control of the cursor) But only this time when it restarted, finder came with a warning error on start up, and I now cannot use the USB ports or the trackpad, due to the wrong IOUSBFamily.kext file. I restarted, and it worked!Īfter transfering my files across and ejecting it, it wouldn't work again, so I replaced the file againĪND the IOUSBFamily.kext file from 10.4.7, repaired permissions and restarted. I bought an external hard drive which is USB powered, and it didn't work so I searched on the internet and found out about using pacifist to install the IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext from 10.4.7. Apologies if this has been done before, but I doubt many people are dumb enough to do this.
